Finance User's Guide: How to Mass Delete Records/Transactions in NetSuite

Written by: Gam Tran

Are you a finance user struggling to find an efficient way to mass delete records or transactions in NetSuite? Look no further! This guide will provide a step-by-step procedure to help you streamline this process and save valuable time. Let's dive in!

Step 1: Set up a Saved Search

The first step is to create a saved search that lists all the transactions or records you want to delete. Set the main line to "True" to enable inline editing. This will allow you to make changes directly within the search results.

Step 2: Enable Inline Editing

Once you have your saved search set up, turn on the inline editing checkbox and ensure it appears green. This will activate the inline editing feature, enabling you to edit multiple records simultaneously. You'll notice that specific columns display a pencil icon in the header, indicating they can be edited inline.

Step 3: Select and Delete

Now, click on the first line of the search results and scroll down to the last line while holding the Shift button on your keyboard. This action will select all the records in between. Once you like the desired records, press the Delete button on your keyboard.

Step 4: Confirm Deletion

A confirmation message will appear, asking if you want to continue with the deletion. Click OK to proceed. Wait for a moment while the system processes the request. You'll notice that the number of transactions displayed on the page will decrease as the records are deleted. Repeat this process for any remaining pages until your search result shows zero transactions.

By following these steps, you can efficiently delete multiple records or transactions in NetSuite, saving you valuable time and effort. It's essential to exercise caution when performing mass deletions, ensuring that you have selected the correct records for deletion.

Remember, managing your financial data in NetSuite should be a smooth and streamlined process. By utilizing the inline editing feature and following these steps, you can effectively maintain data accuracy and keep your system organized.

We hope this guide can assist you with mass record deletion in NetSuite. Please contact our dedicated support team if you have further questions or need additional guidance.
